AFRICOVER WEB MAPS

Welcome to the Africover Web Map application.

Africover Web maps have been designed to give you a way to easily explore Africover data without the need to download anything. The maps can be browsed (zoom in, zoom out), simple querying operations can be done and the results can be printed. Web maps are also a good way to understand Africover data before proceeding to the download of the data sets.

There are several Topics for each country; each of them is a logical way to group the information in a specific area (forest, agriculture, rangeland etc.). The data sets used to create the web maps are thematic aggregations of the full resolution land cover data sets specifically designed to produce effective printouts.

Metadata for each of the published layer in each topic is available in the metadata in the bottom part of the page.

Please click on the Country Topic under the Web Maps category on the left menu to view the web map, and click on metadata to view the relevant metadata.
